About Japan Wanderlust

In 2024, after 7 years of working in team-building and event design in Tokyo, Kazu Nakazawa decided to start something different, a travel company that would treat visitors like people, not bookings.

It started with a simple frustration: too many travelers coming to Japan felt lost. Big group tours were too generic. Online travel blogs were overwhelming. And most “private tour” websites were just resellers, offering the same cookie-cutter routes.

Kazu, an SEO Consultant and Japanese-Filipino entrepreneur, had already been guiding friends and visiting families through Tokyo for years. They kept saying the same thing:

“I wish everyone could experience Tokyo like this — stress-free, personal, and real.”

So he launched Japan Wanderlust, a company built for families, couples, and small groups who want custom, private tours in Tokyo and beyond, with guides who understand both the culture and the traveler.
